This year’s Cowpea Festival Photo Contest theme will be “Quaint Country Churches” with photographs celebrating the heritage and beauty we have in our communities. We’re looking for photos from all corners of the Ocoee Region (contiguous counties surrounding Bradley County). Each photo must contain a lovely country church. The church can be active or abandoned, but not dilapidated. Please try to include some of the surrounding landscape and scenery in your photo. Your image should depict houses of worship that are warm and inviting, in a beautiful setting. The contest begins with the announcement on May 16, 2020 and ends on Aug. 17, 2020. (NOTE: Photos taken in the year 2019 will also be accepted if they fit the contest theme.) Judging will take place August 19, and awards will be announced at the International Cowpea Festival and Cook-off on Sept. 12, 2020, in Charleston, Tennessee.
The competition is open to any amateur photographer who lives in the Ocoee Region of Tennessee except ICFC organizers. Young photographers are encouraged to enter the Budding Artists division for those 13 and younger. Only two entries per photographer may be entered in the contest.
Photographs must be submitted through this website. Winners will be announced and awards presented at the festival.
